In the past few days, I had been struggling with the movement of my bike, and I couldn't figure out why I was having trouble shifting gears after replacing my chain.
On a Sunday, I decided to seek assistance from a local bike shop, despite my usual reluctance to do so because of the perceived arrogance of bike shops that only entertain customers who bought their bikes from them. Fortunately, the bike shop I found at Tanglin Halt hawker centre was different. The staff checked my bike and informed me that my chain was too short, which was why I was having difficulty shifting to the larger cogs.
Furthermore, the guideline for the derailleur is to ensure that the position of the jockey wheels corresponds to the gear size when the chain is in contact. I purchased a new set of chain, and my problem was resolved.
