🍯✨ One of My Honey Collection Centres – Deep in Gulu, Uganda!

Ever wondered what it’s like inside a traditional mud hut in upcountry Uganda?
Well, now’s your chance to see it — up close and real.
We begin our journey inside one of my humble honey collection centres in Gulu — a hut built with cow dung, earth, sweat, and soul. The walls may be raw, but the spirit they hold is golden. Beeswax, warmth, and quiet purpose fill the air.
Then, the scene comes alive.
My dedicated Ugandan beekeepers gather around a table, flipping through logbooks, checking entries, and recording the day's honey yields — all done with heart, humour, and pride.
And there they are — the white buckets of liquid gold. Filled to the brim with hand-harvested honey, they're ready to be loaded up.
But here’s the part that touches me most — the children.
Small but strong in spirit, they eagerly come forward, helping lift and carry the honey buckets to my 4x4 jeep. There's laughter in the air, tiny feet dancing through the dust, and bright eyes full of curiosity and joy.
They aren’t just helping — they’re part of the story.
This is more than beekeeping.
It’s community, it’s heritage, and it’s hope — packed bucket by bucket, into a dusty old jeep, by the most unexpected heroes.
Stay with me. This is just one of many sweet chapters from Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.
