For the last 16 years, I woke up with the sun ray filtering through the mozzy net. Sleeping under a net is a must because malaria is rampant and was a major threat to Uganda. Although treatable, yet many Ugandans died from it. One can hardly has a good night sleep for the mossy will be buzzy and biting all night long. You will be kept awake scratching from head to toe. And that is a consolation provided you don't get malaria.
Now that I am back in Singapore, I felt kind of strange having to sleep without a net. On the other hand, I felt so blessed that Singapore is such a safe country. I can even drink straight from the tap, which I can never do that in Uganda.
