I was very surprised that this little booklet is still in production and existed. I was doing some stationary shopping at Tesco Extra, Penang and I chanced upon it.

This little booklet was the "iPhone" of yesteryears. It was a must have "smartbook" for everyone, from students to street hawkers to the infamous "Tontin" dealers and members. Money transactions and everything else were recorded on this tiny booklet.

I remembered my late parents would use this often. My dad would recorded his daily earning as a taxi driver while my mom would note down her income from her freelance sewing job on it. Besides that, she would also record her saving and repayment plans when she borrowed money from "Tontin".

Life was simple and straight forward then. 555 was the technology.
