Standing Strong Again.

Two years ago today, I could barely move. Before I got a wheelchair to move around, getting from my bed to the bathroom felt like playing musical chairs, shifting from one support to another. Showers meant balancing on my right hand and right leg, every motion slow and deliberate. Those nights were long, exhausting, and humbling.

Today, that chapter closes. My orthopaedic has officially released me. My injury is fully healed, and there’s no need for any more reviews. It’s a moment I’ve been waiting for, and I’m deeply grateful to everyone who played a part in getting me here.

Most of all, I want to thank Joo, who cared for me every step of the way. She was there when I could barely manage on my own, and her presence made the heavy days lighter. I’ll never forget that.

This journey reminds me of my life as a beekeeper. A hive doesn’t recover overnight. Some seasons bring abundance, others test your patience. You can’t rush honey, just as you can’t rush healing, whether it’s the body, life, or relationships. All need patience, care, and steady attention before strength and sweetness return.

As Singapore celebrates its 60th birthday, I feel like I’m celebrating my own personal harvest—two years in the making. Every small step forward, like every drop of nectar, has led to this day.

Healing takes time, but it’s always worth it. Celebrate progress, stay patient, and never take your health, your life, or the people who stand by you for granted.
