Most people know me as the Little Honey Manāthe trainer, the consultant, the guy sharing stories about bees in workshops and strategy meetings.
But few have seen this side of my journeyāout in the field, deep in rural Africa, working with wild bees during swarming season.
In this video, Iām transferring a newly captured colony into a hiveāa delicate moment that marks the start of a new chapter for the bees, and a quiet reward for the beekeeper.
Swarming season here is a beautiful chaos. The Apis mellifera scutellataāAfricaās wild honeybeeāsets out to establish a new home. If you're prepared, nature offers you an opportunity. No gadgets. No shortcuts. Just timing, intuition, and respect.
But make no mistakeāthese arenāt your average bees.African honeybees are sharper, faster, and far more defensive than their European or Asian cousins. You donāt handle them the same way. You approach with awareness. Every move counts.
Their spirit reflects the landātough, alert, and full of life.
This is a part of my work that many never get to see.Itās raw, real, and deeply humbling.
And itās where everything I teach and consult on⦠begins.
