šŸ Swarming Season in Africa – A Glimpse into My Field Work

Most people know me as the Little Honey Man—the trainer, the consultant, the guy sharing stories about bees in workshops and strategy meetings.

But few have seen this side of my journey—out in the field, deep in rural Africa, working with wild bees during swarming season.

In this video, I’m transferring a newly captured colony into a hive—a delicate moment that marks the start of a new chapter for the bees, and a quiet reward for the beekeeper.

Swarming season here is a beautiful chaos. The Apis mellifera scutellata—Africa’s wild honeybee—sets out to establish a new home. If you're prepared, nature offers you an opportunity. No gadgets. No shortcuts. Just timing, intuition, and respect.

But make no mistake—these aren’t your average bees.African honeybees are sharper, faster, and far more defensive than their European or Asian cousins. You don’t handle them the same way. You approach with awareness. Every move counts.

Their spirit reflects the land—tough, alert, and full of life.

This is a part of my work that many never get to see. It’s raw, real, and deeply humbling.

And it’s where everything I teach and consult on… begins.
