The season of flowering has commenced and my bees are actively gathering nectar and pollen to produce honey.
Since the arrival of the bees, I have been practicing proper hive management. Even though Apis Florea cannot be fully domesticated, this experiment has shown that they can still be effectively managed with appropriate handling. As of now, no feeding has been necessary and there are no signs of mites or viruses. The bees are healthy and thriving!

Although apis florea may not produce as much honey as cerana or mellifera, with proper vegetation and apiary management, there is a possibility of achieving a good yield, as has been demonstrated in Cambodia, Myanmar, and Nepal. Through proper handling, feeding was not required, and there were no signs of mites or viruses. All the honey has been sealed and is ready for harvesting. This experiment can now be deemed a success, and we can proudly say that honey has been made in Singapore in 2018. Sweet!
