While rummaging through my old video collections, I stumbled upon some shots and clips from my time in Chiang Mai, Thailand back in 2012. At that time, I was conducting feasibility studies in Chiang Dao, which was about 20 kilometers away from Chiang Mai. During my visit, I had the opportunity to meet Professor Michael Burgett, who was the visiting bee expert at Chiang Mai University.
After traveling on the road for two days from Southern Thailand, I arrived in Chiang Mai around noon and settled into my room. As I was getting acquainted with my surroundings, I noticed a large dark patch on my window. Upon closer inspection, I realized that it was actually a colony of Apis Dorsata, also known as Himalayan bees.

It was an awe-inspiring experience to be so close and personal with such a magnificent colony.
Without hesitation, I called Professor Michael and invited him over to witness this extraordinary sight.

We had a delightful time sharing our knowledge and expertise, and pledged to stay in touch for future collaborations. The beauty of nature.
