In Uganda, I used to grow kangkong when we had a burst pipe in our garden that kept the land moist. We tried to get the authorities to fix it, but they ignored us for over a year. Luckily, the burst pipe was before the meter, so it didn't affect our readings or usage.
Now, on my balcony, I've started growing kangkong again after my two terrapins mysteriously disappeared. They may have been taken by birds while no one was watching. All that was left was a large blue trough that collected rainwater, so I figured I might as well grow something edible.
