My Clever Mom.

Updated: Mar 27, 2023

Time flies and it has been four years since she passed away. Among all the photos I have of her, this one stands out as the most beautiful. I can still remember the joy in her eyes when she finally received her long-deserved certificate. It was as if she was saying, "I've made it!" after years of hard work. She always reminded us that we're never too old to learn, 活到老学到老, and I was incredibly proud when she graduated from the University of Hard-knocks - the finest university in the world, in her opinion.

She didn't have a silver spoon in her mouth, but she had a pair of gentle yet rock-solid hands that were tougher than any material on earth. Our dad passed away early, and she single-handedly raised all eight of us. Her journey was not an easy one, but she never gave up.

Nothing is permanent, and everyone will grow old and fragile. I regret not spending more time with her and getting to know her better. If I could live my life over again, I would cherish every moment with her.
